Leny is a registered physiotherapist with a vast experience in the field of musculoskeletal physiotherapy, who graduated firstly from University of Antofagasta (Chile) and then from University of Sydney. With 30 years of experience and continual education, Leny has worked in Hospitals and private practices to increase his skills in the field of musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Leny’s vast experience comes from most of his rehabilitation knowledge to give the best treatment that the people deserve combining diverse techniques from soft tissue release to more complex spinal manipulation techniques; as well as rehabilitation exercise program. Leny aims to provide the best evidence based treatment and effective patient outcome to return to normal function, whether it is at home, during sport or work in the best condition.
Henry is a motivated therapist graduated from University of Sydney in 2004. He completed his first year training in Westmead Public Hospital 2005 and proceeded to work at the Sydney Adventist Hospital. At the SAH Henry worked as a senior clinical physiotherapist and assisted in the management of the department. Henry also provided expert guidance and education to students from University of Sydney and University of Newcastle. Henry started working at Smithfield Active physiotherapy since 2012, bringing into the practice holistic treatments to improve patients’ outcome. Henrys’ interest is back care for acute and chronic conditions using Mulligans technique; return to work rehabilitation and chest physiotherapy.
We are very privileged to have Pedro Ruz on our team. He is well known for his exceptional knowledge and experience in all fields of physiotherapy. He was the Physiotherapist-in-Charge at St George Hospital in Kogarah between 1976 and 1989, when he moved into Private Practice. Pedro was team physiotherapist for the National Soccer Team (Socceroos) ad was a member of the Australian Olympic Medical Team from 1986 to 1997. He was also the head physiotherapist in Japan at the Hiroshima Sanfrecce Football Club from 1998 to 2001. Pedro’s experience in injury management and sports rehabilitation is legendary! He now practices in Dural and Smithfield.
Andrea has been a valued member of the team at Smithfield Active Physiotherapy since 2011. As an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, he provides individualised exercise intervention for musculoskeletal problems, chronic disease/disabilities, injury prevention and to improve sporting performance. Andrea’s experience includes working with various football (soccer) teams overseeing all strength and conditioning aspects; occupational rehabilitation; high intensity resistance training for chronic disease and geriatric populations at Balmain Hospital; pre-employment and corporate health screening for various industries. He is also available to provide individualised personal training and weight loss programs.
Ana Giorgio is the newest member at Smithfield Active Physiotherapy. Graduating from the NSW School of Massage in Sydney and a member of the Association of Massage Therapists Pty Ltd. Ana specializes in Sports Massage, Remedial Massage, Swedish Massage and Pregnancy Massage. These modalities include various types of techniques such as myofascial release, deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy and relaxation massage. She has also gained excellent experience working with elite athletes and football teams and assists the Physiotherapists with soft tissue treatments. Her priority is to make sure she has made a difference to her patients’ life by way of assisting the relief process of musculoskeletal pain and discomfort. Ana’s dedication to her patients assures you will always receive treatments of the highest standards.
